Terms of Use

• Using AppRanker means you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not submit a listing and do not pay for a rank.
• AppRanker is operated by Quang, an individual based in VN. There are no accounts, so these terms attach to your use of the site and to any payment you make on it.
• You must be old enough to enter a binding contract where you live, and you must be allowed to make the payment you are making.

• A listing's rank is the total it has paid, highest first. Nothing else moves it.
• That total never expires and never decays. A listing keeps everything it has ever paid.
• Equal totals keep the order they arrived in: the listing that got there first stays ahead. Passing someone therefore costs at least $1 more than they have paid.
• Rank is a public, mechanical sort. It is not a review, an endorsement, a quality signal, or a claim that a listing is any good.
• Sponsor placements are outside this sort. They are paid cards beside and below the board, they are labelled Sponsored, and no amount of money spent on one adds anything to a listing's total or moves a listing by a single place.

• Bids are whole US dollars. New listings start at $5.
• A listing already on the board can be raised for as little as $1. You only pay the difference, never the full rank price again.
• A listing tops out at $999,999 paid in total.
• Rank is applied when the payment clears, not when checkout opens. Two people can chase the same rank; whoever pays first gets it, and the other buys the amount they paid for rather than the rank they wanted.
• Every bid is a single one-time charge in US dollars: no recurring billing, and nothing to cancel. The one recurring product on the site is a sponsor placement, which is a separate thing bought on separate terms, set out in the next section.
• Payments are handled by a third-party payment provider, which acts as the merchant of record. It takes the payment, issues the receipt and handles any tax, so the name on your card statement will not be AppRanker, which never sees a card number.
• Bids are final and non-refundable. A bid buys a position on a public board, and that position is delivered the moment the payment clears. The narrow cases that are refunded anyway are set out in the refund policy.
• A rank can be taken from you at any moment by someone paying more. That is the point of the board, and it is not a defect, an outage, or grounds for a refund.

• A sponsor placement is a labelled card beside or below the board. It is not a listing: it does not appear on the leaderboard, and it buys position and nothing else. It adds nothing to any listing's total and it cannot move a listing up or down. The board is sorted by the money paid on listings, and a placement sits outside that sort entirely.
• A placement is a subscription rather than a bid: $29 a month, or $290 a year, in US dollars. It renews at that interval until it is cancelled. The same third-party payment provider is the merchant of record, takes the payment, issues the receipt and handles any tax.
• You supply the destination URL, a title, a tagline, a logo URL and one colour from a fixed palette. The logo is loaded from your own server, so a logo you move or take down stops appearing on the card. There is no account and no self-serve editing: a change to a live placement goes to [email protected], like everything else on this site.
• To cancel, email [email protected] from the address on your receipt, or quote the payment ID on it. There is nothing to log into. The subscription then stops renewing, the card stays up until the end of the period you have already paid for, and the position is released at that point. Cancelling part-way through a period does not refund the rest of it.
• If a renewal payment fails, the card stays up while the payment provider retries it. That grace is deliberate: an expired card is not a reason to pull a placement someone is paying for. If the retries run out, the subscription is cancelled, the card comes down, and the position goes back on sale.
• Nothing is promised about impressions, clicks, traffic, installs or any other result, and there is no reporting dashboard. Clicks are counted on our own server, are never published, and can be asked for by email. The rail also alternates its two halves on a timer, so what a rail position buys is a slot in that rotation rather than a fixed place on the screen.
• The prohibited products set out below apply in full to a sponsor card and to the page it points at, whether or not that page is an app on Chrome Web Store, Edge Add-ons, Firefox Add-ons, Google Play, and App Store. On top of them: a card may not imitate a board row or any other part of this site, may not claim or imply a rank, an award, a review or an endorsement by AppRanker, may not use a name, logo or mark you are not entitled to use, and must describe the page it actually links to.
• AppRanker may refuse a placement, or take a live one down, without notice. Where a placement ends for our own reasons — including withdrawing sponsor placements altogether — the unused part of the period you paid for is refunded pro rata. Where one is removed because it breached these terms, the payment is forfeited on the same basis money on a listing removed for cause is forfeited, and the subscription is cancelled.
• The refund policy is written for bids, and the parts of it that apply to any payment here still apply: how to ask, who processes the money, and what a chargeback costs you. The subscription-specific rules are the ones in this section.

• Public app listings only, from Chrome Web Store, Edge Add-ons, Firefox Add-ons, Google Play, and App Store. Paste the store link or the raw ID.
• One listing per app. Everyone who pastes the same app lands on the same listing, and every payment on it adds to the same total.
• App name, icon, and description come from the store. You do not write them and you cannot edit them.
• Tracking parameters are stripped from submitted links. Clicks route through /r/<id> so the counts we keep stay honest. They are never published beside a listing.
• Apps removed or delisted from their store are removed from the board.
• A listing must be a product its own store permits. By submitting one, or paying to raise one, you confirm that it does not fall in a prohibited category and that you are not concealing what it does.

The board carries apps from Chrome Web Store, Edge Add-ons, Firefox Add-ons, Google Play, and App Store. It does not accept anything those stores prohibit, whichever of them a listing comes from. The list below is a plain-language merge of their policies.

• Child sexual abuse and endangerment. Anything that contains, facilitates or fails to prevent the sexual abuse, exploitation, grooming or sexualisation of minors, and anything aimed at children that carries adult themes.
• Pornography and sexual services. Pornographic or sexually gratifying products, non-consensual or synthetic sexual imagery, and products facilitating prostitution, escort or sexual-services solicitation.
• Hate, harassment, violence and extremism. Products promoting hatred against protected groups, gratuitous violence, self-harm, bullying, extortion, terrorism or violent extremism, or exploiting a tragedy or civil emergency.
• Illegal goods and activities. Products that facilitate or promote unlawful conduct, including illegal drugs, prescription medicines without a prescription, firearms, explosives, weapon accessories, counterfeit goods, human trafficking, or forged identity documents.
• Cannabis, tobacco, nicotine and alcohol. Products facilitating the sale or delivery of cannabis or THC, tobacco, vaping or nicotine products, or encouraging illegal or underage use of alcohol, tobacco or nicotine.
• Real-money gambling, betting and prediction markets. Wagering, casino, sports betting, lottery, prediction-market, sweepstakes and prize-contest products, and products carrying gambling ads, unless licensed and geo-restricted to jurisdictions that permit them.
• Unlicensed finance, predatory lending and crypto trading. Unlicensed money management, banking, trading or insurance products, binary options, contracts-for-difference, short-term or high-APR consumer loans, and crypto exchanges, custodial wallets, ICOs or tokenised-asset offerings without the licences those activities require.
• Cryptocurrency mining. Products that mine cryptocurrency on the user’s device or in their browser, including mining hidden inside an unrelated background process or an embedded ad.
• Health misinformation and unapproved substances. Misleading or harmful medical functionality, unvalidated diagnostic or sensor claims, unapproved pharmaceuticals or supplements, and health claims that contradict medical consensus.
• Malware, spyware and unwanted software. Backdoors, trojans, ransomware, stalkerware, phishing, billing fraud, hostile downloaders, privilege escalation, and anything that damages, disrupts or gains unauthorised access to a device, network or another product.
• Privacy and user-data violations. Collecting personal, browsing or sensitive data without disclosure and consent, brokering or selling user data for commercial benefit whether or not the user consented, harvesting credentials or contacts, covert recording, and building profiles or re-identifying users without permission.
• Deception, impersonation and manipulated media. Misrepresenting what a product does, impersonating a person, brand, store or public authority, faking device or account state, and generating deceptive synthetic media about people or public events.
• Intellectual-property infringement. Infringing copyright, trademarks or patents, distributing pirated or counterfeit material, ripping media from third-party services, and circumventing paywalls, DRM or content protection.
• Spam, ad fraud and ranking manipulation. Message and affiliate spam, invalid ad traffic, fake or incentivised reviews, install and store-ranking manipulation, and duplicate or template listings pushed out in bulk.

These apply to browser extensions and add-ons on top of the above.

• Affiliate-link injection. Inserting, appending or replacing affiliate codes, links or cookies without a related user action and a tangible benefit to that user.
• Obfuscated or remotely hosted code. Concealing what an extension does, or fetching executable logic from a remote source so the shipped code is not the reviewed code.
• Browser and search hijacking. Changing the search provider, homepage or new-tab page without consent or without an easy reversal, and intercepting searches meant for a third-party provider.
• Ad injection and notification abuse. Injecting unlabelled ads, mimicking a site’s own ads, or using notifications for promotion, phishing or anything unrelated to the extension itself.
• Deceptive installation and bulk cloning. Misleading install prompts, bundling other extensions into the install flow, and shipping fleets of near-identical extensions to occupy search results.
• Weakening web security. Relaxing a page’s security headers, degrading browser protections, or exploiting vulnerabilities in other extensions.

• The list is representative, not exhaustive. Anything materially similar to an entry above is treated as covered by it.
• Store policies change. The current version of a store's own policy governs, not the summary on this page.
• Where a category is lawful only under licence, such as gambling, regulated finance, cannabis or health, the product must hold that licence and be geo-restricted to the places it covers. We may ask for proof of it before or after payment.
• The primary policies are these, and a reader who wants the actual rules should check them rather than take the summary above on faith: Google Play Developer Content Policy, App Store Review Guidelines, Chrome Web Store Program Policies, Microsoft Edge Add-ons Developer Policies, Mozilla Add-on Policies.

• Acceptance at submission is not a permanent determination. A listing that went up can come down later.
• The board is swept on a recurring cadence: a monthly pass over the board and a deeper quarterly review, plus a look at anything reported in between.
• These reviews are a reasonable-effort exercise. They rely on public store data, the listing's own metadata, the store link it points at, and reports sent to [email protected].
• The same sweep removes a listing whose app has been delisted, has stopped working, or has been abandoned by its developer.
• Nothing here is a representation that any listed app has been verified, tested or approved.

• Anyone can pay to raise any public listing, including one they do not own. Money on a listing says that someone paid, not that the developer endorsed it.
• Do not submit apps that are unlawful, that infringe someone else's rights, or that are already in breach of their own store's policies.
• Do not attempt to inflate click counts, script the checkout, scrape the board at a rate that degrades it, or otherwise interfere with how the ranking works.
• Do not use AppRanker to imply an affiliation with, or approval by, an app or its developer.

• App names, icons, descriptions, and store trademarks belong to their respective owners and are shown only to identify the listing they point at.
• As to the board, AppRanker is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any app developer, publisher, or app store. A listing says only that someone paid to put it there, and no listing is a commercial relationship with us beyond the money that bought its rank.
• Sponsor placements are the exception, and the only one: a sponsor pays for a labelled card beside the board. They supply their own name, logo and copy, and confirm they are entitled to use them. Carrying that card is not an endorsement of the sponsor by AppRanker, nor of AppRanker by the sponsor, and it buys nothing on the board itself.
• If you own an app and want its listing off the board, or you believe a listing infringes your rights, write to [email protected] and say which listing and why.

• A listing is removed immediately, and without prior notice, if it is unlawful, if it falls in a prohibited category, if it breaches these terms, or if it was submitted while concealing what the product does.
• Money paid on a listing removed for cause is forfeited and not refunded, including amounts paid before the violation was noticed, except where a mandatory consumer-protection law requires otherwise.
• Where an email address was given at checkout we write to it after the fact, and one appeal to [email protected] is allowed.
• Relisting a removed product, submitting it under a different store ID, or otherwise working around a removal is itself a violation of these terms, and bars future listings.
• AppRanker may also stop taking bids, change the economics for future bids, or close the board entirely. Money already paid keeps the rank it bought for as long as the board is up.
• Where a report concerns child safety or other serious criminality, the matter is referred to the appropriate authorities and to the relevant store.

• AppRanker is an independent leaderboard. Nothing on the board — the listings, the store metadata behind them, or the ranking itself — is affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or acting for Google, Apple, Microsoft, Mozilla, any app store, or any listed developer. The paid sponsor cards described above are the only commercial relationship on the site, and each of them says Sponsored on its face.
• Listings are third-party content. App names, icons, descriptions, screenshots and store data are fetched from public store listings and shown as received, and are neither written nor edited by AppRanker.
• A rank is a paid, mechanical sort. It is not a review, an endorsement, a certification, a security assessment, or any statement that a listed app is lawful, safe, accurate, private, or compliant with its own store's policies.
• A sponsor card is a paid placement and is labelled as one. It is not a review, an endorsement, a certification, a ranking signal, or any statement by AppRanker about the sponsor, their product, or the page the card points at. A sponsor slot buys position beside the board and nothing else: it does not enter the money sort, it does not raise or lower any listing, and no amount of it changes a rank. Rank stays the total paid on a listing, highest first.
• AppRanker does not develop, publish, operate, host, distribute, install or control any listed app, and takes no responsibility for a listed app, its content, its behaviour, its data practices, or anything it does to a user or their device. Downloading, installing or paying for a listed app is a matter between the user and that app's developer and store, and is done at the user's own risk.
• The developer of an app, and whoever submitted or paid for its listing, are solely responsible for that app's compliance with the law and with its store's policies, including anything contributed by third-party SDKs, ad networks and analytics bundled inside it.
• Any dispute about a listed app belongs with its developer or its store. A complaint about a listing on this board goes to [email protected] and is handled under Compliance reviews and Removal above.
• If something is wrong with a listing, write to [email protected], say which listing and why, and we act on it.

• The site is provided as is. There is no promise of uptime, of traffic, of clicks, of installs, or of any commercial result from holding a rank.
• Listing metadata comes from third-party store data and can be stale, incomplete, or wrong. It is shown as received.

• To the extent the law allows, Quang is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profit, lost traffic, or lost business arising from use of the board.
• Where liability cannot be excluded, it is capped at the total amount you paid to AppRanker in the twelve months before the claim.
• Nothing here limits liability for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
• You indemnify Quang against third-party claims arising from a listing you submitted or paid for, including claims that the app is unlawful, infringing, or in breach of its store's policies.

• These terms can change. The date at the top of this page is when they last did, and the version published here is the one that applies.
• These terms are governed by the laws of VN, and its courts have jurisdiction over any dispute.
